2007 Kaw Valley Special Rodeo Sponsored by: The Kaw Valley Rodeo Association (KVRA)
The Kaw Valley Special Rodeo is an opportunity for children with special needs to participate in rodeo events with prorodeo "partners" assisting in fun and noncompetitive activities. All events are designed to be appropriate to the special needs of the children. Safety considerations are foremost at all times. Each child can choose any or all of the events they want. Accommodations are made for children with wheelchairs, crutches or braces.
There is no cost for participating children. The ages are 5 to 12 years old. Each child will receive a cowboy hat, bandana, a contestant number and a t-shirt. The KVRA encourages the children and parents to stay and be their guests for the regular PRCA Rodeo. Due to the limited number allowed to participate, the children need to sign up in advance. This will also allow the staff to know of special needs a child may have and to have tickets mailed in advance. |
