Music & Cultural Camp

Presented by Accessible Arts, Inc. in collaboration with Kansas State School for the Blind Traditional Music Society

 

99 Drums will bring together a group of children with and without disabilities to experience music and dance in a celebration of diverse cultures in an inclusive environment.

 

The 99 Drums weekend will culminate with a free public performance on Sunday, April 23rd at 2:30 PM in the gym on the campus of the Kansas State School for the Blind. Families and the public are invited. Children will be finished with all activities at 4:30 PM, Sunday afternoon.

 

Adult volunteers are essential to this program. Please consider volunteering. Training will occur before the event.

The Kansas Summit is designed to provide an opportunity for local teams to come together and hear information from experts in the field and then, using that information, develop action plans to improve transition services at the local level.  Any person working with students with disabilities getting them ready to transition to college, technical trade, work or other programs after high school need to attend.  Teams are encouraged to attend.  The teams can include persons from special and general education, vocational rehabilitation, developmental disability organizations, community health centers, independent living centers, foster care, juvenile justice, business/community, family/students and workforce development centers.  For more information or to register as an individual or a team, go to ksde.org and click on the event under Conferences/Workshops or go to www.kansped.org.
