¡Hola! Me da mucho gusto mandarles un muy cariñoso saludo desde la oficina de Garden City, Kansas. Estoy muy agradecida por el apoyo de todos los que pudieron estar en nuestro “Fin de Semana de Enriquecimiento” el 20 y 21 de Octubre donde estuvimos aprendiendo y celebrando el aniversario de los 25 años en cual “Familias Unidas, Inc.” a asistido y apoyado a las familias de Kansas. Fue un fin de semana muy divertido y de mucho aprovecho para las familias y sus hijos. Asistieron 13 familias, con 31 niños. Estamos muy agradecidas por todos los voluntarios que fueron ayudarnos con las actividades de los niños. Esperamos seguir apoyando este gran evento tan necesario para las familias hispanas que tienen hijos con cualquier discapacidad. El dicho del día fue muy apropiado porque nosotros como padres somos la voz de nuestros hijos, quienes son el futuro del mañana. “ADONDE EL CORAZON SE INCLINA, EL PIE CAMINA” Recuerden que “Familias Unidas” ofrece diferente talleres gratuitamente, como la Transición, la Ley de la Educación Especial, Estrés, Abogacía de los hijos y otros talleres útil para los padres. Usted solamente necesita llamarme para pedir más información. Estamos gustosos también por los talleres que ahora se están ofreciendo. Esto es entrenamiento para la familia, las escuelas, y compañerismo con la comunidad. ¡Desde la oficina de Garden City les estamos deseando a usted y su familia Feliz días festivos y un año nuevo lleno de felicidad!
Hello! I’m very happy to greet you all from the Garden City office. I am very grateful for the support of everyone who was able to attend our Family Enrichment Weekend on October 20th and 21st.. We learned a lot and celebrated 25 years in which “Families
Together” has assisted Kansas families. It was a very exiting, fun week-end and a great learning experience for the families and their children. We had 13 families who attended with 31 children. We are grateful for all the volunteers who helped with the children’s activities. We hope to have your support with future events for families who have a child with a disability. The saying for the day was
very appropriate because we as parents are the voice of our children, who will be the future of tomorrow. “WHEREVER OUR HEART LEANS, THERE OUR HEART WILL TAKE US”. Remember that Families Together, Inc. offers free workshops, such as Transition, Special Education Law, Effective Advocacy, Stress and other much needed workshops for parents. All you have to do is call me for more information. We are excited about new workshops being offered for Family Schools Partnerships. We wish you and your family happy holidays and a New Year full of happiness from the Garden City Center.
Proposed Rules and Regulations on Seclusion and Restraint:
Kansas State Board of Education Sets Public Hearing

The State Board of Education set the hearing on the proposed rules and regulations on seclusion and restraint for February 13, 2007, at 1:30 pm in the State Board Room (KSDE Building, 120 SE 10th, Topeka KS, 66612). THANK YOU to everyone who sent emails and placed phone calls to Board members.
The proposed regulations create a common sense, manageable minimum standard regarding the use of seclusion and restraint. Regulations would provide consistency, certainty and protections to parents, students, and schools.
Families Together, DRC, and Keys for Networking are working together to provide training to parents on the proposed regulations.
