  • The Capper Foundation Summer Camp Program - A variety of theme day camps for children with physical disabilities ages 5 and above.  June and July.  Contact our intake coordinator at 785 272-4060, ext. 7156.

  • 21st Century Therapy sponsors the Independent Living Skills Program, designed to help young adults ages 13-20 to develop skills for independent living. Two-week sessions June -Aug. (816) 353-8585. Kansas City, Missouri

  • American Cancer Society sponsors Camp Hope, a safe camping experience for young people ages 8-21 who have or had cancer. Free. (800) 227-2345

  • American Diabetes Association sponsors Kansas City Diabetes Camp for children ages 7-15. Along with a fun camping experience, children learn about diet, medicine and exercise, and meet other children with diabetes. Mini session: July, $270; full session: July 25-30. (913) 383-8210.

  • Association of Therapy and Resource Centers sponsors fun afternoon programs and trips for young people ages 4-teen with learning difficulties related to Asperger’s syndrome, ADHD, ASD etc. (785) 841-5215.

  • Autism Asperger Resource Center sponsors Camp Determination, an overnight camping experience for ages 8-18 with autism spectrum disorders. (913) 588-3896.

  • Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America, Greater Kansas City Chapter sponsors Superkids Camp for children with asthma entering grades 2-7. Enjoy a camping experience without the worry of asthma. (816) 333-6608.

  • Camp Angels at Miracle Hills Ranch brings the summer camp experience to individuals who have mental and physical disabilities 13 and older. (660) 425-2277 or (866) 677-1359.

  • Camp Quality is a camping experience and year-round support program for children ages 3-17 with cancer and their families. Aug. 1-6, free. (816) 561-5861, Kansas City, Missouri.

  • Camps for Kids is a nonprofit organization providing scholarships to underprivileged and children with special needs ages 5-17 to attend accredited day, residential and specialty camps operated by various agencies. (816) 474-5111, Ext. 410, or 

  • Girl Scouts Juliette Low camp for girls ages 8-18 with disabilities and their friends entering grades 4-7. Swim, hike, earn badges and learn to live and have fun in the outdoors. July 7-14 or 17-24, $100. (816) 358-8750.

  • Epilepsy Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri sponsors Camp Shing for children ages 6-17 with epilepsy and seizure disorders and their families. (816) 444-2800.

  • Horizon Academy offers programs for students in grades 1-8 who are struggling in any or all of their basic skills. Sessions June 7-18 and June 7-July 2, $310 and up. (913) 789-9443, Roeland Park, Kansas.

  • Kansas City National Sports Center for Disabled Camps - These free interactive camp allows kids with disabilities, either physical or developmental, ages 6-18 to experience first hand various sports. These fun filled days events will include adaptations of basic drills and will serve to promote player development and help identify potential future Paralympic athletes. These camps will feature appearances and assistance by coaches and/or players from the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and Wizards Major League Soccer teams.

  • Kansas City Hospice provides Camp Carousel for grieving families with children ages 6-16. A mix of fun, recreational and creative opportunities foster sharing and healing. Oct. 1-3, free. (816) 363-2600.

  • Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (KEEN) - nonprofit, volunteer organization that provides free one-to-one recreational opportunities for children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities. At each KEEN session, a participating Athlete is paired with a volunteer Coach for a variety of age-appropriate recreational activities.

  • Katy’s Place sponsors Camp Katana for families coping with HIV/AIDS. Families must have at least one HIV-positive family member and at least one child younger than 18 in the household. May 28-30, free. (913) 362-2722.

  • Maur Hill-Mount Academy Camp St. Maur One Can Do. Coed residential camp for youth entering grades 4-8 with ADD/ADHD and similar disabilities. Concentration on social skills, self-esteem and traditional recreational activities. June 20-25, (913) 367-5482, Atchison, Kansas

  • National Kidney Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri, Children’s Mercy Hospital and the Dream Factory sponsor Camp ChiMer for kids ages 9-17 who are undergoing dialysis or have had a kidney transplant. Aug. 8-12, free but participants cover their medical costs. (913) 262-1551 or (800) 444-8113.

  • Turning Point sponsors Camp Compass for children ages 4 and older who have a brother or sister with a chronic or serious illness.  Free but donation requested. (913) 383-8700, Ext. 16.

  • UMKC and Longview College offer ACED for students ages 16 and older with developmental disabilities. Campers can choose from golfing, fishing, water aerobics and more. (816) 235-1754.

Camp Carpe Diem is a special needs summer camp, specifically designed for individuals with high support needs (ages 7 -70).  We are able to assist with high levels of personal care, behavioral support as well as a variety of other support needs.  Camp Carpe Diem provides a one to one or one to two staff to camper ratio.  Camp Black Hawk is a special needs summer camp for children and adults with developmental disabilities.  This camp offers all the fun and activities you would expect from an exceptional summer camping program, with extra staff supervision, structure  and guidance so everyone can succeed.

Cub Creek Science Camp  Although Cub Creek's typical camper does not have a disability, Cub Creek Science Camp is open to any child with an interest in nature, science and animals.
